FAQ's

Q. Should Wetwall be fitted up to the edge of the shower screen or should the screen be fitted onto the panel?
A. Either option is suitable and it comes down to a matter of personal taste. In either case it is essential that the joint between the shower screen and the panel is sealed correctly with panel sealant.
Q. How much panel adhesive do I need to fix the panels?
A. The amount of adhesive required is dependant upon the surface the panel is being fixed to. No more than 1 tube of adhesive should be needed for a 2420mm x 1200mm panel.
Q. How do I apply the panel adhesive?

A. If the walls are relatively flat then a 6mm bead of adhesive applied in a zig-zag pattern down the back of the panel is the best method.

If the walls are uneven then the adhesive should be applied in large drops at the corners and the middle of the panel (like a double five in dominos). The adhesive has gap filling properties and will assist in levelling the panel.

Q. Do I need to use a capping profile at the top of the panels?

A. The use of a capping profile is not essential providing the panel edge is properly sealed with panel sealant. If required the Bottom Profile can be used to cap any exposed edges of the panel.

If the application is commercial or in a high use area then the use of a Bottom Profile or an End Cap coupled with sealant will provide an improved seal.

Q. Is a corner trim available that will accommodate an angle of more than 90 degrees?
A. No. We would currently recommend that one of the panels should be chamfered and butted into the other panel, ensuring that the joint is well sealed.
Q. How much coverage will I get from a tube of panel sealant?
A. A tube of Wetwall panel sealant will produce about 10.5 metres of a 6mm diameter bead or enough to seal about ten 2.4 metre high tongue and groove joints.
Q. Is Wetwall available in a fire retardant grade?
A. Yes, we can manufacture Wetwall panels to either Class 1 (BS476:Part7) or Class 0 (BS476:Part 6), however they are not available in the standard colour range and are subject to minimum quantity and lead time. If you require fire retardant wall panelling please contact us to discuss your requirements.
